A few more links.

I plumb the well that is the web, and here's four more names I just found that might be worth reading. (I'm posting this in part to remind myself that they're worth permanently linking later.)

Jurie Horneman. Apparently around the world and back, now works for Rockstar Games. Dig his response to criticism that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City advocates killing Haitians as fun: "This is a gross misrepresentation. Vice City advocates the killing of people as entertainment." Fuck yeah, baby, earn that M rating.

Jason Della Rocca. Program director for the IGDA. Apparently his job involves a lot of globetrotting to various game industry conventions. Wouldn't mind his job, I don't think.

Mark Barrett. Freelance writer, including game design and screenwriting. Scroll down to read his October 9 essay, "The Producers," a meditation on how these oft-misunderstood manager types either facilitate or dictate, and on which approach obviously bears fruit (obvious to those who work for them, anyway.) I also like the part under "Cheating a Slow Death," regarding how underrated the importance of professional writers are in game development teams, for the sake of storytelling. (They are indeed tragically underrated.)

Lee Sheldon. Goes by "Skyrain10" on VNBoards. Another former screenwriter and current game writer type, his recent work includes some preliminary work on Uru. Critiques SWG.
